CARES Expansion
The Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES) program are expanding their reach with the goal to expand CARES to all 50 states by 2025. Read more about it here!
CARES is currently implemented in 26 states and additional communities in 16 additional states. CARES has partnered with the American Red Cross and American Heart Association, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to expand their registry to all 50 states by 2025. The expansion of this program will help communities increase survival rates.

Registration Now Open for CMRETAC and NWRETAC Regional Medical Direction Conference!
Please join Central Mountains RETAC and Northwest RETAC for our annual Regional Medical Direction Conference on November 19th and 20th in Glenwood Springs. Agenda items to include Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Regional Medical Direction Breakout session, resiliency, and more.
Cost:
There is no cost for individuals in the Central Mountains RETAC and Northwest RETAC Region.
Individuals outside of the region will be charged $25 for attendance plus hotel accommodations if requested. Central Mountains RETAC will invoice you 2-3 Business days after receiving your registration.

AED Grant Opportunity
Colorado Rural Health Center is accepting applications to receive an AED.
Any Colorado public school or person who owns, operates, or manages a public place, either enclosed indoor or outdoor area capable of holding one hundred people or more to which the public is invited or in which the public is permitted, but does not include a private residence is encourage to apply for the opportunity to receive an AED.
The application deadline is Friday, October 18 at 5:00 PM.

Colorado CARES State Coordinator
Starting Hearts is seeking qualified candidates to fill a new position as State Coordinator for the Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival (CARES). CARES is a national database created by the Center for Disease Control and Emory University to track pre-hospital, in-hospital, and post-hospital data on cardiac arrests to compare statewide outcomes to national averages to improve outcomes.

July 16 – August 14 Accept applications, initial interviews, choose three finalists and distribute RFP
August 15 – 21 Finalists submit RFP
August 22 – 28 Final selection made
